The revitalization of Mendel Square in Brno has transformed a major transportation hub into a clearer, more welcoming public space. The works also include new tree planting, bringing greenery, shade, and a more natural scale to this predominantly hardscaped area.

The planting scheme was designed for demanding urban conditions and to create a more comfortable microclimate across the square. We supplied Quercus texana 'New Madrid' and Ulmus 'Frontier', planted with trunk circumferences of 30–35 cm. The trees are distributed throughout the main area of the square. The new greenery also provides shade for visitors and gradually strengthens the square’s role as a place to stay and spend time. Alongside improved traffic circulation, the revitalization has created a higher-quality public space.
