Medium-size, single or multi-stemmed tree, initially with a columnar crown, later narrow ovoid. Grows rather vigorously, especially when young, and grows up to 8 - 10 m high. The large flowers are tulip-shaped and have even, light lemon yellow petals. The flowers open in May. After blossoming, fruits form abundantly. Due to its slender crown, ‘Yellow Lantern’ is suitable as an avenue tree as well as a park or garden tree.
