Fagus sylvatica 'Bornyensis' is an a-symmetrical weeping beech with an upright growing top and pendulous branches which are usually on one side. Remains narrower than the cultivar 'Pendula' that has more spreading branches. It is a stately tree with a height of 15 - 20 m. The oval to ovate leaves are green and 4 - 9 cm large. Blooms in small, inconspicuous flower catkins, less abundantly than F. sylvatica. Useful as a solitary. Prefers well-drained soil that is not too wet and that is rich in humus content. Winter hardiness zone: 5b
