Aceraceae

Acer rubrum 'Fairview Flame' Acer rubrum 'Fairview Flame'

Another red maple that was selected for its splendid autumn colours. ‘Fairview Flame’ turns a beautiful deep red in autumn. It is a fairly vigorously growing tree with a regular, pyramidal crown that droops somewhat and becomes rounder when mature. The summer leaf is a shiny dark green with a slight red tint. Highly suitable as a street and park tree. Also fine for use along driveways. Its growth will stagnate on calcareous soil. In such soil, as with very dry soil, the autumn change of colour will be less noticeable. Intolerant to (sea) wind.
