Strongly growing, medium-size tree up to approx. 15 m height with regular pyramidal and later broad pyramidal crown. The leaves sprout green and stay shiny green in colour throughout the summer. The leaf stems are light red on top. The leaf is relatively small for an A. × freemanii cultivar. In autumn the leaf turns vivid orange-red to deep scarlet. The autumn colour persists quite a long time before the leaf falls. Although the plant is female, fruits rarely form. Less suitable for use in narrower streets due to its strong growth and fairly broad crown, but the tree is a good adornment for avenues, wide streets and parks. Like all A. x freemanii, this flourishes on most soils as long as they are not too limy.
Acer ×freemanii SIENNA GLEN ('Sienna') can eventually reach a height of 15 m, depending on the site and climate conditions.
Acer ×freemanii SIENNA GLEN ('Sienna') is average growing and can eventually reach a height of 15 m, depending on the site and climate conditions.
The leaves of Acer ×freemanii SIENNA GLEN ('Sienna') turn orange, red in autumn.
The right time to plant Acer ×freemanii SIENNA GLEN ('Sienna') is during the dormancy period. In Western Europe, Acer ×freemanii SIENNA GLEN ('Sienna') with root balls can generally be planted from mid-November to late April, although this depends strongly on the climatic conditions and the species of tree.
Acer ×freemanii SIENNA GLEN ('Sienna') blooms in march.
