Small to medium size tree, initially broad and columnar, ovoid when mature. The dark green leaf is somewhat less undulate than normal in the species. It has a somewhat bronze colour in spring. The leaf is fairly resistant to mildew and gall mite, and completely so to red spider mite. A good avenue tree for use on green belts, road verges, narrower streets, housing estates and squares. Does not grow well enclosed by paved surfaces. ‘Lienco’ was discovered by M. Hendriksen but marketed by Handels Coöperatie Lienden.
Acer campestre 'Lienco' can eventually reach a height of 6-10 m, depending on the site and climate conditions.

The leaves of Acer campestre 'Lienco' turn yellow in autumn.
The right time to plant Acer campestre 'Lienco' is during the dormancy period. In Western Europe, Acer campestre 'Lienco' with root balls can generally be planted from mid-November to late April, although this depends strongly on the climatic conditions and the species of tree.
