De Heeg is a spaciously designed district in the south eastern part of the municipality of Maastricht. This residential area characterised by a lot of greenery which goes towards explaining its popularity among young families. Meendaal is a kilometre-long ridge that runs through the district. Both sides of it were planted with a lesser known elm: Ulmus minor ‘Cloud Corky’ in size 30-40. This elm has a beautiful bark and strong corky fissures on its branches. Moreover it has a stunning autumn colour. The trees grow perfectly in their new location and are an asset to the district.
