Ulmus 'Morton Glossy' (Ulmus TRIUMPH 'Morton Glossy') is a large tree with an oval, later broadly vase-shaped to fan-shaped crown up to 20 m high. The crown is dense and regular in shape. The leaves are quite small and slightly glossy. The leaves sprout early in spring, when they are more glossy. In autumn, the leaves turn yellow. Ulmus 'Morton Glossy' prefers a nutrient-rich, moist to even wet soil. The tree will tolerate even temporary flooding, provided it is in winter. Resistance to Dutch elm disease is good. Because of the width of its crown, the tree is unsuitable for use in narrow(er) streets. But for lanes and wide greenbelts, Ulmus 'Morton Glossy' is an excellent cultivar. The tree is very hardy.
Ulmus 'Morton Glossy' arose from a complex cross involving the species U. davidiana and U. pumila. The tree was introduced in 1998 by the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, USA. Hardiness zone 5.
