Slow growing, large, densely branching shrub. Grows after many years into a small, multi-stemmed tree with a broad vase-shaped to broad ovoid crown. Eventually attains a height of 6 m. The flowers have the characteristic tulip shape of Magnolia x soulangeana. They are pure white on the outside with a pinkish purple mark at the base of each petal. The flower’s inside is white. Of all the M. x soulangeana cultivars, its flowers are among the first to open, around early to mid-April. It is an old cultivar that originated in Belgium in the mid-19th century. Suitable for parks and gardens.
