'Vranja' is a small tree with an almost round crown with a height of 3-5 m, in some cases higher (8 m). It is a moderately strong to vigorous grower whose stem branches grow quite horizontally. The young twigs are felt-like hairy and the old bark is black-brown. The ovoid to oval leaves are dark green and 10-12 cm in size. Flowering is around late April-early May, earlier than in the species. The flowers are white to soft pink and 4-5 cm in size. The edible fruits ripen around mid-October. These are pear-shaped, greenish-yellow to yellow and can grow larger than 10-12 cm. They are quite densely covered with felt hairs, making them soft to the touch. The productivity of 'Vranja' as a young tree is already regular and good to very good. Besides its good fruiting, this cultivar is little susceptible to mildew. However, 'Vranja' is susceptible to leaf fall disease. Hardiness zone 5a
